Oakland Police paid to dress for work

Mon Dec 14, 2009 11:30 pm by mcarson

http://cbs5.com/local/oakland.police.uniform.2.1369808.html

Just saw this on the news. Apparently the officers sued the city for back wages for time spent in donning and doffing their work uniforms which included safety gear. Whats upsetting to me is to see how those in the public dislike the courts decision.

No Job Posting!

Thu Nov 12, 2009 5:19 pm by mikeb14

My company has hired several people to fill vague positions that were never posted and don't have a job description. These people may be earning near the same or more than me. I have been there 26 years. I am a successful sales manager and have, needless to say, vast experience with this company. I have been asking for additional responsibilities (training new sales staff, working with other …

Wed Jul 22, 2009 6:58 pm by nckrystalblue

Does this only relate to actual per hour wages or is this inclusive of other 'benefits' as well such as Performance Reviews and Pay Raises if they are included in the handbook or other forms of notice (§ 95-25.13.) with the other company "policies"?

Good Afternoon;

After my boyfriend was stabbed about 2 years ago, he's had real bad seizures - they have been lasting over 3 to 5 minutes. Even though he has seizures, because he can work, he can not go on SSI - even though his seizures are now considered deadly because they are over 4 minutes.

What causes his seizures are lack of sleep, stress, and caffeine. However, because his job makes …

Do I have any legal recourse? (This is different from my ADA post)

Mon Jun 22, 2009 4:26 pm by JimmyJazz4

Hello again,
I have other issues with the firm that terminated me while I was on disability and I'm wondering if I have any recourse. Please read below.

I was hired in 2/08. In 5/08, my company waived the requirement for an employee to be employed for 6 mos. before they could get promoted. They did this because my manager announced he was leaving & his manager wanted me to get the job. I …
