Pro-labor executive order signed.
President Obama signs a pro-labor executive order which reestablishes a Clinton-era order that Bush rescinded. It encourages federal agencies to require project labor agreements on major ($25 million or more) federal construction projects. These agreements essentially require all contractors on a project to sign on to an agreement negotiated with relevant unions (the equivalent of an 8(f) agreement under the NLRA.
