UNEMPLOYMENT PROCEDINGS Empty UNEMPLOYMENT PROCEDINGS

Topic moved from employment law
Where can I find the "rules" that the hearings, appeals etc. are governed by?
By rules, I mean what the officer/judge/referee (or whatever title he/she esteems themself with) must, can and can't do during a hearing, like recording the session, admitting evidence, swearing in witnesses, objections etc.

Is that outlined in the statute, can I request them from the local office or do I have to belong to the secret society known as the ESC? Evil or Very Mad

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE*

Normally any rules for hearings are not contained in the statutory law, but instead in regulations issued by the agency responsible for administering that law. If I recall correctly, you are in North Carolina. Go here:

http://www.ncesc1.com/PMI/default.asp

Scroll down to the section that has the heading Governmental Relations. Under that section is a link to ESC Regulations. Click it. This will download a Word document that should answer your question.

Thanks so much I'll check it out as soon as I get home!!

Thanks also for putting this in the correct area. I wasn't sure and since it related to employment law I figured that was the closest spot.

Don't worry about putting it in the wrong place Administrators and Moderators can always move it.
