What kind of compensation am I entitled too?

In the last few days my husband has been demoted and now has recieved a cut in pay. When he questioned why all he was told is it was because of write ups that he has never seen and that one was a write up for not being at a company party that he did not go to after work. When he asked about the other write ups and the one about not going to the party his employer just walked a way. he has been employed there over 12 yrs, with out a pay raise or cost of living increase in over 3 yrs. any advise ...

The California Court of Appeals has just reversed the Starbucks award. The difference, according to the appellate court, was that the trial court based its decision on cases finding violations where tips given to individual employees were required to be pooled and ultimately distributed to managers among others. In this case, however, the tips were initially given in a "tip jar"--not to an individual employee. According to the court, Distributing initially pooled tips to managers ...

I work for a well known national retail company in southern california. You'll probably see me here a lot, this company is constantly doing things I am forced to question and I want to make sure I don't get screwed just so they can save themselves trouble.

On the last payday, a letter came with the check (stapled to all checks and stubs) stating that the 8 hours of holiday pay that shows in the "unused" account of PTO is to be considered irrelevant (in so many words).

I had known ...

I’m currently working at an Indian casino in Oklahoma as a poker dealer. The casino takes 20% of table games employee tips. The tips are supposedly shared with support staff, supervisors and management. In addition, support staff and occasionally supervisors make tips of their own, which they keep 100% of. As matter of fact supervisors pocket their tips to avoid paying tax on them. Is any of this legal? Do Indian tribes really “run their own Government” and do as they please? Prepping and deprepping and keeping track of gear. A few weeks ago I was picking up some gear from 2 different places.
I work for a school district, part time with no benefits.

My job requires that I put in more than four hours a day, but I can only be paid for four hours. Extra pay is "flex" time, which i can use if I am sick or want a holiday.

My employer wants to change their policy from a 45-day accumulation of flex time to a 10 day accumulation - in short, I would have to take a day off or be sick within 10 days of when I worked those extra hours.

I've worked 15 extra hours already, ...
